Baylor Quality - Craig Ranch Convenience
For conditions ranging from bone fractures to breast cancer, a look inside the body can help doctors make a quick and accurate diagnosis, so you can get back to being you. With the opening of the Baylor Diagnostic Imaging Center at Craig Ranch, you can now have many imaging tests performed closer to where you live or work.
Our facility is one of only six in the world to offer dual-head molecular breast imaging, an exam that can help find breast tumors smaller than 1 centimeter that might be missed with other screening tools. MBI is not meant to replace mammography but is ideal for dense breast tissue and patients with increased risk of breast cancer.
The technology also has a higher energy resolution, relating directly to the contrast on the image. Generally the higher the contrast on MBI images, the better quality images one will receive. MBI has the unique capability of replicating screening mammography images, making it much easier for a radiologist to compare mammograms to the MBI images.
The center also offers:
- Bone mineral density testing to measure bone thickness and check for osteoporosis, including the ability to accommodate patients who weigh up to 450 pounds
- Digital mammography to help detect breast cancer
- Ultrasound, which uses high-frequency sound waves to image the internal organs as well as muscles and tendons, and can give you your first look at your growing fetus
Beginning August 1 the Center will also offer:
- MRI to assist in the diagnosis of sports injuries, from backs to shoulders, knees and ankles
- CT technology delivers powerful scanning for areas such as the chest, abdomen, and brain
- Digital radiography (X-ray) offers in-depth examination of soft tissue and lungs
Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Imaging services require a physicians' order. To schedule an appointment at the Baylor Diagnostic Imaging Center at Craig Ranch, please have your physician's office call 469.814.5500.
