I need information about...
During a sleep study, you will sleep overnight in a comfortable bedroom. Our professional staff will place a number of electrodes on your body to monitor your brain waves, eye and limb movements, heart rate, breathing and snoring. We will also monitor the level of oxygen in your blood as well as the actual movements of your chest and abdomen during sleep. Every effort is made to make you as comfortable as possible. Once a diagnosis is made, your physician will discuss various treatment options with you. These may include behavioral therapy, medication and use of medical devices or surgery. Specially trained staff at the Sleep Center work closely with the patient, family, referring physicians and other specialists throughout the diagnosis and treatment process.
While sleep studies are conducted in a home-like bedroom equipped with a television and telephone, we realize you may want to bring some personal items to make your stay even more comfortable. Items to consider include:
Be sure to eat dinner before arriving at 8 p.m. for your sleep study, and keep caffeine intake to a minimum.
