Our facility places medical advancements in the hands of higly skilled physicians on our medical staff who specialize in women's health issues.

Gynecological Surgery

Women undergoing gynecological surgery at Baylor Medical Center at Southwest Fort Worth receive specialized, 24-hour care in our surgical and recovery suites. There are separate areas for patient triage, day surgery and inpatient care.

Specialized Staff

Our staff includes skilled, board-certified physicians and surgeons on our medical staff, a quality anesthesia department, professional nursing staff and a host of support staff.

Being Informed

Knowing what to expect before and after surgery can help reduce any concerns you might have. Our staff offers the latest in surgical patient education, providing complete preoperative through discharge instructions.

Before surgery, you may be asked to:
  • Stop smoking; it may constrict blood vessels and increase healing time
  • Have blood, urine and other tests per your physician
  • Stop taking certain medications which may increase the chance of bleeding
  • Stop eating/drinking a certain number of hours before surgery
  • Sign a consent form
After surgery:
  • You will spend a few hours in recovery
  • You will be moved to another room
  • Our nursing staff will explain post-surgical care, including medications
  • You will be provided detailed home care instructions and recommendations for follow-up
