Recent Hospital Awards & Recognition

Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospital®. Baylor Waxahachie was ranked among the 100 top U.S. hospitals based on their overall organizational performance. The Thomson Reuters study evaluates performance in 10 areas: mortality; medical complications; patient safety; average patient stay; expenses; profitability; patient satisfaction; adherence to clinical standards of care; post-discharge mortality; and readmission rates for acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), heart failure, and pneumonia.

2009 & 2010 Texas Award for Performance Excellence - Achievement Level.  This award from the Texas Quality Foundation recognized Baylor Waxahachie for it's well-deployed, effective, systematic approaches to organizational management with good performance levels and trends evaluated against industry standards.

2008 & 2009  Midas Platinum Award for Excellence in Clinical Performance.  Baylor Waxahachie was honored for its achievement in quality outcomes, care efficiency and consistent delivery of evidence-based best practices. Out of 600 hospitals across the country, Baylor Waxahachie was the only hospital in it's category in Texas to receive this honor in 2009.

2006-2008 VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence 

2007 Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award, presented by TMF Health Quality Institute - Recognition for Best Practices in Seasonal Influenza Immunization BHCS Quality Improvement Award - First place winner in the "Quality" category among all BHCS facilities for providing evidence-based care by screening patients and prescribing blood  thinners to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or blood clots. As a result, this has become a prescribed protocol for the entire Baylor Health Care System.
