Hospital Awards & Recognition 

Texas Ten Step Designation: The Texas Department of State Health Services' Texas Ten Step Program encourages breastfeeding as the preferred method of feeding for newborns and infants. Based on the World Health Organization/ UNICEF’s Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, the program aims to: assist the birth facility’s support of breastfeeding mothers before, during, and after delivery; encourages these facilities to identify breastfeeding resources for the mother after she is discharged and more.

MBSAQIP Accredited Center: Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie’s weight loss surgery program has achieved national accreditation from the American College of Surgeons' Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program for meeting the highest standards for patient safety and quality of care for weight loss surgery.

NICHE Designation: Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie took a significant step in improving care for older adults by becoming the only hospital in Ellis County to have received designation as a Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) facility. NICHE is the only national designation indicating a hospital's commitment to excellence in caring for patients 65 and older.

Heart Failure Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC) recognizes the hospital’s expertise in providing quality care to patients who are treated for heart failure. The SCPC is an international not-for-profit organization that focuses on transforming cardiovascular care by assisting hospitals in their efforts to create a culture of excellence that brings together quality, cost reduction and patient satisfaction. To receive accreditation, Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie underwent a rigorous evaluation and improvement process confirming it was in compliance with the highest national standards of care for patients suffering from heart failure.

On the Pathway to Excellence® 
Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie has earned the prestigious Pathway to Excellence® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The designation identifies the hospital as having a work environment where nurses can flourish and are empowered to provide outstanding care to patients. It also substantiates the professional satisfaction of nurses at Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie and identifies it as one of the best places to work.

2012 Texas Award for Performance Excellence
Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie is the 2012 recipient of the Texas Award for Performance Excellence (TAPE), given by the Quality Texas Foundation.  Patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award criteria and process, the Texas Award for Performance Excellence is an annual recognition of Texas organizations that have achieved performance excellence and applied outstanding quality principles in their day-to-day operations. Texas organizations who serve as role models for quality, customer satisfaction and performance excellence receive this prestigious award.

2012 Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospital®
Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie was ranked among the 100 top U.S. hospitals based on their overall organizational performance. The Thomson Reuters study evaluates performance in 10 areas: mortality; medical complications; patient safety; average patient stay; expenses; profitability; patient satisfaction; adherence to clinical standards of care; post-discharge mortality; and readmission rates for acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), heart failure and pneumonia.  It was the second year in a row for Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie was ranked.

2009 & 2010 Texas Award for Performance Excellence - Achievement Level. 
This award from the Texas Quality Foundation recognized Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie for it's well-deployed, effective, systematic approaches to organizational management with good performance levels and trends evaluated against industry standards.

2008 & 2009 Midas Platinum Award for Excellence in Clinical Performance.  Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie
was honored for its achievement in quality outcomes, care efficiency and consistent delivery of evidence-based best practices. Out of 600 hospitals across the country, Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie was the only hospital in it's category in Texas to receive this honor in 2009.
