Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie

History

The roots of Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie go all the way back to 1914 with the opening of the area's first hospital, the Waxahachie Sanitarium. The opening brought a needed service to the burgeoning community.

In 1965, the Waxahachie Sanitarium was renamed the W.C. Tenery Hospital and was located in the current facility. For another 18 years the hospital served the community as an independent entitiy until 1983 when it joined the Baylor Health Care System

Recently, Baylor Waxahachie reached a new milestone when it purchased 83 acres on the northwest corner of the I-35 and Hwy. 287 intersection. The land is earmarked for future expansion to meet the needs of the growing region served by Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie.
