At Baylor, in addition to our specialized medical departments and innovative services, we're equipped to handle an array of emergency situations for patients of all ages including children. Baylor Waxahachie treats close to 44,000 patients each year in our Emergency Department and is the largest emergency department in Ellis County.

Minor Emergencies Happen

In order to accommodate our patients needs, the Emergency Department recently underwent an expansion that has allowed us to treat our patients faster and more efficiently. Part of our expansion was dedicated to treating patients who have minor emergencies. Due to the nature of emergency medicine, people with an ankle sprain can take back seat to a patient with chest pain. Our new emergency department now allows our patients with minor emergencies such as sprains, cuts or ear aches to receive care quickly too. In fact, we get most of our patients in and out in just over an hour and a half on average.
