Pediatric Care 

Finding a Primary Care Physician for Your Children

Baylor Waxahachie has Pediatricians and Family Practitioners on our medical staff that have locations throughout the Ellis County in Waxahachie, Midlothian and Red Oak to provide convenient care for your children. Emergency Care

Baylor Waxahachie accepts patients of all ages in our emergency department. Our emergency room is staffed 24/7 with board certified Emergency Medicine physicians. In fact, in order to expedite care to our patients, we recently opened a minor emergency e-clinic for your convenience that is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. This may allow you to receive care for your child quickly, and should the problem be a bit worse than you anticipated, we have a full scale emergency department right down the hallway.

Baylor Waxahachie provides many radiology and lab test and procedures for pediatric patients.

Outpatient Surgery

We have physicians on our medical staff at Baylor Waxahachie who conduct pediatric surgical cases for outpatient or day surgery procedures including: General surgery, Ear Nose and Throat Specialist, Orthopaedics and many more.

Inpatient Care

Baylor Waxahachie admits children 12 years of age and older and who weigh at least 80 pounds for inpatient care. While we are equipped to care for pediatric patients in the Emergency Department and in Outpatient Surgery, we feel that your children are best served at a children’s hospital for inpatient care. This policy mirrors most of the Baylor Health Care System hospitals, including the 1,000 bed flagship facility Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. As there are three children’s hospitals in the DFW area, it is common practice that pediatric patients are transferred for inpatient care to one of these facilities Should your child need to be admitted to inpatient care, we work closely with these facilities to provide a smooth transfer.
