Asthma Center Team 

Your Asthma Team at Baylor

You and your closest family members are the most important people on the asthma center team. There are some other important members, too. Along with your doctor, the team performs testing and provides valuable information to you and your family to help control your asthma.

  • Our nurses and respiratory therapists talk with you about peak flow monitoring, medications, and environmental control. They will also provide you with information on lung function and what happens to your lungs when you have asthma.
  • Physical therapists help develop a safe exercise program using peak flow monitoring and medications for your personal needs.
  • Occupational therapists provide stress management and relaxation techniques to help control symptoms
  • Social workers are available for counseling, support, and information concerning community resources.
  • The physicians on staff at the Asthma Center closely monitor your care while you are here. They do not replace your primary care physician; we send all records to your main doctor after your asthma is under control.
