Marshal Mills was named senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Baylor Health Care System in 2006. He is responsible for the strategic management and direction of human resources initiatives across the System.
Mills has over 25 years of experience in human resources management and organizational development. Previously, he served as the vice president of human resources for the Americas region of Ciba Vision Corporation, the eye care unit of Novartis pharmaceutical company in Atlanta, GA. In this position, Mills established leadership and organizational performance measures and led the redesign of his region’s sales, marketing and operations functions.
Prior to Ciba Vision Corporation, Mills was the founder, president and chief executive officer of Human Capital Management Solutions, Inc., a provider of a Web- developed application with overall workforce optimization to improve corporate performance and revenues as well as retention of employees.
From 1999 to 2000, Mills served as the senior vice president of human resources for Psinet Consulting Solutions in Houston and was also the human resources practice leader for Ernst & Young from 1998 to 1999. Prior to that, he served as vice president of human resources and organizational effectiveness for Bausch & Lomb.
Mills received a bachelor’s degree in business and science from Northeastern University and completed the program for management development at Harvard Business School. Mills has more than 25 years of experience in human resources management. His health care experience includes a stint as a human resources manager at Harvard University Medical Campus and later as the senior human resources manager at Children’s Hospital in Boston.
