An annual physical helps identify risk factors and early signs of disease before symptoms or complications develop. Although the guidelines vary, most physicians recommend a baseline physical at age 18, then one every two to three years if you're healthy. If there are issues such as borderline high blood pressure or cholesterol, then physician recommend an annual exam. Men ages 18 to 35 should also do monthly testicular self-exam. "It's a Guy Thing" is free, but registration is required. Register on Baylorhealth.com or call 1-800-4BAYLOR.
