Community Service at Baylor

For a century, Baylor has kept community service at the core of its mission and values. Our commitment to the community means reaching out to people throughout North Texas. Over the years, Baylor Health Care System has invested increasing time, talent, and financial resources in "community benefit" programs aimed at getting people healthy and helping them stay healthy.

Baylor Community Service Advisory Council was established as a way to plan and guide Baylor's community service efforts. The council uses data from the Dallas County Community Health Checkup and insight from community members to help us meet the needs of our neighbors.

Ongoing community efforts include:
  • Preventing injuries, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and asthma, because of their high incidence in the community
  • Tailoring services to local needs to improve health and quality of life
  • Providing care to the medically indigent and donating resources to community programs
