Sleep Disorders

A good night's sleep is something many people take for granted.

But when you are one of the more than 70 million Americans who have difficulty falling and staying asleep*, you understand how frustrating and debilitating this can be. It can affect your ability to concentrate at work or while driving. It can cause accidents, relationship problems and even pose a serious threat to your health.

According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, there are 84 disorders of sleeping and waking patterns that can result in a diminished quality of life. But there is good news. Accurately diagnosed and treated, most of the symptoms can be alleviated.

The Sleep Center at Baylor Health Center at Irving Coppell and the Sleep Center at Grand Prairie offer leading-edge monitoring technology to diagnose sleeping disorders including sleep apnea, narcolepsy, periodic leg movement disorders, insomnia and other related conditions.

Women & Sleep

Research shows that women are twice as likely as men to have trouble falling or staying asleep. Women's sleep patterns change over time, primarily because of changes in their bodies and hormonal fluctuations. Stress, juggling home, work and maternal duties, depression and relationships also affect the quality of sleep. The Sleep Centers offer professional guidance and support to help women find the way to a good night's sleep.
