Emergency Care

Baylor offers many emergency services, as well as community training and support.
  • Emergency Care: You can rely on us to be close when you need us. Baylor Medical Center at Dallas provides full emergency services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Trauma Care
  • Limb Salvage: Baylor University Medical Center has renowned capabilities in the area of limb salvage resulting from such complex problems as complete or partial severance of limbs, crushed bones, extreme or multiple fractures, nonunion fractures, and osteomyelitis (bone infection).
  • CareFlite: For the most urgent emergency situations, critical patients can reach the nearest emergency room in minutes by a CareFlite helicopter
  • Lifesaving Techniques and Training: Each day, nearly 1,000 Americans suffer from sudden cardiac arrest--usually away from a hospital. More than 95 percent die, in many cases because lifesaving defibrillators arrive on the scene too late, if at all. To save more lives, Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas supports the American Heart Association's efforts to train and equip those likely to be first to arrive at an emergency with heart-shocking devices called automatic external defibrillators (AEDs).
