Rehabilitation
Patients recovering from a stroke often face a period of rehabilitation to regain function in those parts of the body that may have been affected. Physical therapy and occupational therapy are offered on the Baylor stroke units. Upon discharge, patients may be transferred to Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation or Baylor Specialty Hospital to continue their rehabilitation.
For patients who experience decreased functioning,
Baylor Rehabilitation System offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including physical, occupational and speech therapies, as well as specialty programs and clinics, to help patients achieve their maximum ability as quickly and safely as possible.
