Baylor Hand and Upper Extremity Clinic
Hand and upper extremity injuries require specialized treatment to help regain and retain as much function as possible. Occupational therapists at the Hand and Upper Extremity Clinic have advanced training in hand therapy. We offer a thorough evaluation and treatment for conditions including fractures, crush injuries, tendon and nerve repairs, repetitive strain, nerve compressions, wound care and post-surgical care such as for reattachment of fingers or limbs.
We develop customized treatment programs that may include therapeutic exercise, stretching, strengthening, scar management, muscle and sensory reeducation, home exercise programs, edema control, use of thermal or electrical therapy equipment and customized splinting.
