Neurology and Neurosurgery
The neuroscience services department offers advanced care to patients in the region, including minimally invasive surgery. This technological advancement is especially beneficial for patients who suffer from back pain and find the prospect of surgery daunting. We've put together a team of surgeons on the medical staff specializing in the delicate microsurgery of the spine and the brain.
Our goal is for our patients to experience the best possible outcomes with the shortest recovery times. We can accomplish this goal through an emphasis on minimally invasive spine surgery. Quite often, surgeries are performed through an incision the size of a thumbnail and typically on an outpatient basis.
Neuroscience services also provide advanced suite-operating room technology for neurosurgery. Multiple viewing monitors in the operating room provide three different perspectives to optimize surgical assistance and allow teleconferencing.
The Hermes voice-activated system allows surgeons to control critical elements in the operating room, such as room lighting, bed positions, surgical devices and more. The Brain Lab Cranial Image Guidance System allows the surgeon to use the patient's MRI to navigate through the patient's brain or spine and add an unheralded level of safety.
