Intensive Care

Our 18-bed intensive care unit features computerized monitoring and specialized care for patients who require continuous observation. The unit is equipped for cardiac intensive care capabilities to reinforce our cardiovascular surgical and neurosurgical programs.

Critical care services include care for open-heart surgery patients and intercranial pressure monitoring.

The LifePak biphasic defibrillator automatically determines if a lifesaving shock is required and only allows for those shocks to be delivered. On the third floor, our ICU has innovative technology and critical care registered nurses who provide quality care to our patients in need.

It takes specially trained professionals to care for patients who need special intensive care. That's why 25 percent of the staff are certified critical care registered nurses (CCRN). All nurses who work in the intensive care unit have had at least one year experience working in an ICU.
