Heart and Vascular Care at Baylor Irving

If you are one of the more than 79 million Americans who suffer from some type of cardiovascular disease, Baylor Medical Center at Irving is ready to help. We offer a comprehensive program to help diagnose and treat your condition using advanced techniques delivered by a team of caring and dedicated health care professionals and physicians on the medical staff at Baylor Irving.

The Baylor Irving Heart and Vascular department is a fully interventional service featuring both interventional cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology suites capable of performing emergency catheterizations at any time of the day or night. Non-invasive diagnostic techniques include echocardiography, transesophegeal echocardiography and stress testing as well as a congestive heart failure clinic that allows patients to remain at home and receive ongoing support and medical treatment on an outpatient basis.

We also offer advanced diagnostic and treatment procedures. In January 2007, we unveiled the first Stereotaxis® GentleTouch Magnetic System in the Metroplex. With this advanced system, the physicians on our medical staff are able to use magnets and computerized controls to more gently and precisely navigate catheters through delicate areas of the heart and increase blood flow.

Baylor Irving is also one of the few hospitals in the Metroplex performing interventional closure of atrial septal defects (ASD) or openings in the heart. Through this advanced procedure, physicians are able to repair these defects through a vein in the patient's leg, instead of requiring a more invasive open heart surgery.

For patients with heart rate or rhythm problems, Baylor Irving developed the Arrhythmia Center to diagnose and treat these specific heart issues. We also offer minimally invasive procedures for many cardiovascular conditions including blockages and aneurysms of the vessels.
