Our Children's House

Where the Journey Home Begins

Children recovering from a disease or illness have special needs as they prepare to return home from a conventional medical facility. Baylor has created "Our Children's House," a unique and innovative hospital, to comfort and support children during that crucial transition. Our Children's House is a licensed children's hospital that provides complete and comprehensive care and services in a family-centered environment for children from infancy to age 18 who need treatment for developmental or birth disorders, traumatic injury, or severe illness.

Our one-of-a-kind facility in Dallas, set in an attractive Victorian home, provides a warm, nurturing environment for treating children who are transitioning from an acute care facility back home. In addition to caring for children, we believe that education for families is key to the health of a child. During an inpatient stay at Our Children's House, parents and siblings are encouraged to participate and a parent can stay with a child 24 hours a day.

Our specialized care extends beyond our main hospital. Our Children's House at Baylor operates six suburban or outpatient clinics, making available treatments, programs and care from our health professionals close to home.
