Life is unpredictable. You can rely on us to be close when you need us. At Baylor, in addition to our specialized medical departments and innovative services and research, we're equipped to handle a wide array of emergency situations.

We have emergency services in hospitals across the metroplex and all Baylor Health Care System hospitals provide full emergency services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For the most urgent emergency situations, critical patients can reach the nearest emergency room in minutes by a CareFlite helicopter.

Equipped as a Level I Trauma Center

One of only two Level I trauma centers in Dallas, Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas is capable of treating the most seriously injured patients. While initial stabilization of a patient can be managed by smaller hospitals, the critical care capabilities of a major trauma center like Baylor can make a difference in a patient's recovery.
