Hereditary Cancer Risk Program

Baylor Sammons Breast Center offers an in-depth cancer risk evaluation program, including genetic counseling and genetic testing options for women concerned about their risk of developing breast/ovarian cancer.

Each participant meets with a Certified Genetic Counselor/Nurse and will receive an individual written summary of risk, a personal plan for monitoring as well as prevention options.

The program includes education about the risk factors for cancer, an analysis of personal and family history and genetic counseling including the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Genetic testing is performed if the participant chooses to do so, and the results and implications are explained.

Patients may schedule an appointment or physicians may refer their patients by calling (214) 820-9600.
