Diabetes Management
A diagnosis of Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes can change your life but it doesn't have to diminish your quality of life. By combining your doctor's treatment plan with some basic knowledge and a few new skills, it's possible to keep diabetes under control and minimize your risk of complications.
Baylor created the Baylor Health Care System TEAM Diabetes Self-Management Training Program to teach individuals of every age how to successfully manage diabetes and enhance their overall quality of life.
By helping you control your diabetes, the TEAM program can help enhance your overall quality of life both short-term and long-term by:
- Reducing your risk of diabetes complications
- Lowering your emergency or acute care costs
- Minimizing the need for hospital visits
- Reducing any lost work or school time
