Sportscare Performance Testing

Baylor SportsCare offers the following types of performance testing.
  • Basal Metabolic Rate
This test measures how your body digests fat and carbohydrates to determine how much energy your body uses when you aren't exercising.
  • Lab Tests
These extensive tests allow your physician to evaluate your cell count, blood-glucose level, kidney/liver function, electrolytes, cholesterol, and triglycerides.
  • Helium Re-Absorption Hydrodensitometry (Underwater Weighing)
This is the most accurate way to measure body composition (body-fat percentage, fat mass, and lean mass) because your lung volume is actually measured and factored into the results.
  • Calipers
This test measures "fat folds" at various sites on your body to determine body-fat percentage.
  • Treadmill Tests
These analyses measure your cardio-respiratory level and determine how your body responds to exercise.
  • General Fitness Assessments (GFA)
These evaluations feature such fitness and wellness components as basic cardiovascular and pulmonary function, body composition, strength, and flexibility, and include basic blood work.
  • Executive Fitness Assessment
This comprehensive assessment is used to improve overall health and fitness through lifestyle-enhancing instruction.
