Full-Body Scan

In some situations a full-body CT scan is right for your healthcare needs. These scans are generally for screening purposes and can detect abnormalities in various areas of the body. Full-body scans actually encompass two different types of scans into a single exam, including:
  • Abdominal and pelvic scan for abnormalities in the liver, kidneys, gall bladder, adrenal glands, bowel, ovaries, prostate gland, and bladder.
  • Heart and lung scan for abnormalities in the heart and lungs. A cardiac report, included with the scan, identifies the risk for heart disease based on the detection of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries.

Physicians are then able to assess and diagnosis any conditions present and recommend treatment options.
