Shoulder Care at Baylor

The shoulder is a ball and socket joint with three main bones: the upper arm bone, collarbone and shoulder blade. These bones are held together by muscles, tendons and ligaments. The shoulder joint has the greatest range of motion of any joint in the body that also increases the risk for injury and problems. Shoulder problems can be minor or serious and may include symptoms such as pain, swelling, numbness, tingling, weakness or changes in temperature or color. Shoulder injuries most commonly occur during sports activities, work-related tasks, projects around the home or falls.

Baylor is one of the few facilities in North Texas performing shoulder replacement for patients who have had unsuccessful rotator cuff surgeries or fractures that did not heal correctly. The high volume of patients suffering from shoulder pain who choose Baylor allows our specialists the most comprehensive experience to perform the latest procedures.

Rehabilitation of shoulder injuries can usually be done on an outpatient basis. The Baylor Rehabilitation System offers several locations so patients can continue their recovery close to work or home. Find a rehabilitation location near you.
