Treatment Programs

The Baylor Center for Pain Management offers a wide array of innovative treatment programs and techniques to relieve pain and restore comfort. In addition to a comprehensive outpatient program, the center's staff can customize a pain management program to fit your individual needs.

Medical Management
  • Neural blockade
  • Neurolytic procedures
  • Neuroaugmentation techniques
  • Invasive procedure components

Customized Programs
  • Individualized programs providing selected services in a less intensive manner over a period of several months. These programs are designed for patients who cannot attend or do not need a full-day treatment program.

Comprehensive Outpatient Program
The Comprehensive Outpatient Program, which is a member of the Texas Association of Accredited Pain Programs, is an intensive four-week day-treatment program including group therapy and individual counseling, physical therapy, aquatics, biofeedback and visualization training, and practical approaches to life and work skills.

The program was designed to provide comfort and restore function for patients who are medically stable but are significantly affected by pain. Typically, patients have been in pain for four to five years and need to rest about six hours each day. They also are suffering from emotional distress and social isolation and are unable to perform life's normal activities.

Patients in the program can include those with back, neck, or spine pain; fibromyalgia; headache; job injury; degenerative spine disease or post-spine injury; and others. A physician, psychologist and physical therapist evaluate each patient before admission to determine the appropriate level of treatment.
