Financial Counseling
Baylor provides financial counselors to help patients find ways to meet their financial obligations for the services provided to them. Specifically financial counselors:
- help patients apply for government assistance programs such as Medicaid or the Baylor charity care program.
- review the bill of any uninsured patient with a balance over $500 to see if they may qualify for assistance.
Any patient may request to speak to a financial counselor when being treated at Baylor. Uninsured patients who are admitted to the hospital will automatically receive help from a financial counselor.
