Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation Frisco 

The skilled therapists at the Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation Outpatient Services clinic on Legacy drive in Frisco offer a variety of therapy services for patients suffering from physical conditions related to aging, gender, illness and injury.

The goal of our multi-disciplinary team, composed of physical, occupational and speech therapists, is to provide the high quality treatment and compassionate service needed to improve quality of life and help patients achieve their goals.

Our Staff

Center Manager/Physical Therapist: Christopher Freund, PT, DPT, CBIS
Christopher Freund graduated from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut where he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). Christopher has recently relocated to Frisco, where he continues to pursue his interests in orthopedics, manual therapy and neurological rehabilitation. Christopher has completed advanced education focused on the shoulder, cervical/ lumbar spine and Functional Movement Screening. He is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and is certified in performing Trigger Point Dry Needling.

Physical Therapist: Robin Jessup, PT, MS
Robin earned her MS in Physical Therapy from Texas Women’s University. She has worked extensively with patients with all types of neurological impairments in both the day neuro and outpatient settings. Robin is certified in LSVT-BIG for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. She also is Bioness L300 certified for the treatment of foot drop and is a certified vestibular therapist. She plans to pursue a board certification in neurologic therapy in the future.

Physical Therapist: Priya Karakkattil, PT, PhD(c), CBIS
Priya received her post professional Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2005. She is currently a PhD candidate at Texas Woman’s University. She has extensive experience in outpatient orthopedics, geriatrics and neuro rehabilitation and is a certified brain injury specialist. Priya’s clinical interests are neurological rehabilitation of stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and post-operative rehabilitation following joint replacements.

Physical Therapist: Hima Ravindranath, PT, DPT, CBIS
Hima graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University in Arizona. She is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) and has extensive experience working with geriatric, orthopedic as well as neurological conditions.  Her clinical interests involve improving lives of patients with movement disorders especially those with Parkinson’s disease. Hima is certified in LSVT-BIG and is the lead for the clinic’s Movement Disorders Program.

Physical Therapist: Christy Troegle, PT, MS, NCS
Christy is a Licensed Physical Therapist and a Board Certified Neurological Clinical Specialist.  She earned her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. Christy is certified for LSVT BIG and Bioness L300, and also earned her Aquatics Certification and her Certified Brain Injury Specialist Certification.  Christy’s clinical interests include gait training after neurological injury, post-concussion rehabilitation and vestibular therapy.

Occupational Therapist: Susan Dobbs, OTR, MOR, CBIS
Susan graduated Texas Women’s University with a Master’s of Occupational Therapy. She has over 16 years of experience in acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Her primary areas of interest are neurological (stroke, multiple sclerosis, Guillain Barre’ and Parkinson’s) and some orthopedic injuries of the upper extremity. She is LSVT-BIG certified and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. 

Occupational Therapist: Alice Petranek, MS, OTR/L, CBIS
Alice holds a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from Touro College in New York.  She brings 20 years of experience to Baylor Rehab outpatient services, spanning acute care to home health. Her passion is neuro rehabilitation, and for the last 14 years, she has worked primarily in neuro-based outpatient departments as well as in a day neuro program.  Alice is also fluent in Spanish.

Speech Therapist: Karen Riney, CCC-SLP
Karen graduated from Western Kentucky University with a M.S. degree in Communication Disorders. She has worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient settings treating cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in the adult population. She is certified in LSVT-Loud, McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program and Vital-Stim.
