Baylor Rehab Garland – Walter Reed 

The skilled therapists at the Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation Outpatient Services clinic on Walter Reed Blvd. in Garland offer a variety of therapy services for patients suffering from physical conditions related to aging, gender, illness and injury.

Our goal is to provide the high quality treatment and compassionate service needed to improve quality of life.

    Clinic Hours:

    Monday - Thursday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    Our Staff

    Center Manager/Physical Therapist: Rachel Clagett Burns, PT, DPT
    Rachel graduated with a BS in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University in 2006 and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of South Carolina in 2009. Rachel has extensive experience treating neurological patients (Stroke, CVA, SCI, MS, ALS, Parkinson’s Disease). She is LSVT BIG certified. Her clinical interests include the neurologic and geriatric population with preference to lower extremities, balance, gait abnormalities, vestibular and athletic populations.

    Physical Therapist: Samantha DeMars, PT, DPT
    Samantha graduated with a BS in Kinesiology Human Movement from Louisiana State University in 2009 and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Louisiana State University Health and Science Center in Shreveport in 2013.  She is trained in dry needling, lymphedema, and kinesiotaping. Her clinical interests include orthopedic population with preference to extremities, post-surgical rehabilitation, high level neurological and athletic population.

    Physical Therapist: Rachel Hardin, PT, DPT
    Rachel graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University in 2014.  She is LSVT BIG certified to restore balance and motion to the Parkinson’s population, as well as certified to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations and Dry Needling.  Her clinical interests include orthopedic rehabilitation with focus on spine, extremities, post-surgical and TMJ. She also has interests in neurological and vestibular rehabilitation and amputees. 
     
    Physical Therapist: Nikki Kincy, PT, DPT
    Nikki graduated with a BS in Kinesiology from Texas Woman’s University in 2012 and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University in 2015.  She is pursuing advanced training in orthopedic and manual therapy techniques, dry needling, sports training, and lymphedema.  Her clinical interests include spine, the extremities, post-surgical, as well as sports rehabilitation.

    Occupational Therapist: Jay Skaria, OTR/L
    Jay completed his MS in Occupational Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA in 2015. He has an interest in treating orthopedic and neurological conditions affecting the upper extremities and enjoys helping patients restore their independence. He has experience treating a variety of upper extremity diagnoses, including fractures, repetitive strain injuries, tendon/nerve pathologies, and arthritis. He is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

    Rehabilitation Technician: Kathy Sharum
    Kathy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, majoring in Dance, from Texas Tech University.  She has been with Baylor Rehab Garland for more than 19 years. Kathy’s clinical interests include the After Care Exercise Program and Functional Performance Exercise.
